NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Ruth Evelyn Chauvin Saxton, 92, of Clayton, who died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Natchez City Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. Saxton was born July 22, 1921, in Ferriday, the daughter of Aurthur and Blanche Chauvin. She was a member of Clayton Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, E.S. Saxton Sr.; two daughters, Yvonne Saxton Bean and Juanita Joyce Saxton; two sisters, Helen Yvonne Chauvin Warden and Blanche Chauvin Griffin; and one brother-in-law, Charles Albert Massey.
Survivors include one daughter, Sylvia “Jo Jo” Saxton of Bemidji, Minn.; one son, Elzy S. “Buddy” Saxton Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two daughters, Blanche “Sandy” Saxton Clayton and husband, Larry, of Clayton and Brenna Kay Saxton of Natchez; 13 grandchildren, Charmaine, David, Lisa, Robin, Lori, Rhonda, Kendra, Jay, Jana, Parrish, Danny Ruth, Scotty and Whitney; three brothers, Aurthur E. “Bubba” Chauvin and wife, Betty Lou, Charles Hudson Chauvin and wife, Dorothy, and Lawrence John “Larry” Chauvin and wife, Edith; two sisters, Betty Ann Chauvin Roden and Emily Chauvin Massey; 25 grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
