MEADVILLE— Funeral services for Patricia Halford Dickerson, 71, of Roxie, who died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at her residence in McCall Creek, will be at 11 a.m. today at Franklin Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. today until service time at the funeral home.
Ms. Dickerson was born on Mar. 14, 1942, in Roxie, the daughter of Robert Lee Halford and Dolly Halford Allen.
“Patty” was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, totally devoted to her family. In these last years, she spent most of her time watching over them with love and encouragement. Together, they spent many hours of fun fishing in the ponds near her home.
She also enjoyed sports and was a fan of several teams but she especially loved following the sports activities of her grandchildren. She frequently called them after their sporting events, cheering them on and offering congratulations. She was truly loved and her family and friends will miss her very much.
Ms. Dickerson was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Carey Barron, Sr,; parents; and five brothers, Jimmy, Marvin, Paul, Donald and Jerry Halford.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Dickerson, of McCall Creek; son, Charles Carey Barron, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth, of Berwick, La.; daugthers, Patricia LeAnn Barron of Morgan City, La., and Kimberly Barron Bryant and husband, Carl, of Richland, Miss.; sister, Peggy Ann Thomas of McCall Creek; brother, Levon Halford Halford, of McComb; seven grandchildren, Barron Paul Courtney, Amanda Elizabeth Barron, Charles Carey Barron, III, Patrick Louis Barron, William Lofton Bryant, Hayden Paul Barron, and Drayton Paul Keller; and close friends, Patsy Arceneaux, Joan Rogers, and Mary Saunders.
Pallbearers will be Carl W. Bryant, Robert Halford, and her grandsons.
