FERRIDAY — Services for Mary Belle Skipper White, 73, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, her residence surrounded by her family and loving husband, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ferriday Church of God.

Burial will follow in Harrisonburg Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. today at the church.

Mrs. White was born Aug. 26, 1940, the daughter of Luther and Ruth Skipper.

She was a caregiver, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Glenda Nell White; one son-in-law, James “Buddy” Holomon; two sisters, Sherrie Skipper Guthrie and Louise Wellburn; and one brother, James “Buddy” Skipper.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Vernon Morris White Sr.; two daughters, Janice Lynn and husband, Terry Lee Crochet, and Gail Dean Holoman; two sons, Vernon Morris White Jr. and wife, Needra, and Vernon Edward White; grandchildren, Christopher Lee Crochet and Melissa Crochet, “Tonya” Lynn Stamely and husband, Rick, “Bubba” Vernon Morris White III and wife, Rachel, Benjamin Shawn Crochet and wife, Crystal, Matthew Jackson and Mandy, Merry Crochet and Adam Sandler, Jasmine White, Lilly White and Nikki Holomon; great-grandchildren, Triston Lee Crochet, Kaylin White, Shawn Hunter White, Nichole Rowell, Olivia Butler, Tristan Hunter Crochet, Kaylub, Landen, Pheebee Stamey and Dylan Jackson; one sister, Allene S. Hoss; and three brothers, Bobby “Bo” Skipper, Raymond “Pip” Skipper and Luther Daniel “Skip” Skipper Jr.

Pallbearers will be Terry Lee Crochet, “Bro” Vernon Morris White Jr., “Eddie” Vernon Edward White, “Ben” Benjamin Shawn Crochet, “Bubba” Vernon Morris White III and Matthew Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher “Lee” Crochet, Chris Rowell and Rick Stamey.
