FERRIDAY — Funeral services for Elvonne Fakes, 64, of Ferriday, who died Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Riverland Medical Center, in Ferriday, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Vidalia.
Burial will follow in the Vidalia Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the Concordia Funeral Home.
Mrs. Fakes was born Nov. 11,1949, in Vidalia, the daughter of Johnny Simpson and Wille Mae Fortune. She was a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Fakes and two brothers, Johnny Simpson and Charles Fortune.
Survivors include two sons, Donnie Fakes of Ferriday and James Fakes and wife, Latrice, of Hattiesburg, Miss.; one daughter, Doris Ellis and husband, Bernarldo, of Plano, Texas; one brother, Robert Fortune and wife, Velma; four sisters, Thelma Simpson and Velma Simpson, both of Vidalia, Wille Lee Spurs and Curtis Lee Johnson, both of Lowell, Mass.; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
