LIBERTY — Services for James “J.W.” Ross, 64, of Liberty, who died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at his residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. George Coney officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Ross was born March 3, 1949, in Amite County, the son of Willie James Ross and Rosie Lee Caston Ross.

Mr. Ross was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Wilbert Ross; two brothers, Johnny Wilkinson and Willie James Ross Jr.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Clover “Dean” Ross; one son, Marran Jackson and wife, LaSonia, of Water’loo, IA.; five daughters, Patricia Thompson and husband, Wilbert, Yolonda Bold and husband, Micheal, and Shera Ross, all of Summit, Wanda Jones and husband, Odeal, and Carlean Bennett and husband, Earl, all of Liberty; two children whom he reared and loved as his own, Cardell Jackson and wife, Netocha, of Liberty, and Mylenn Woodard and husband, Jerry, of Water’loo; a number of grandchildren; 14 brothers, Mitchell Ross and Luther Ross, both of Water’loo, Ray Charles Ross and wife, Mozell, Antwine Wilkinson and wife, Pamela, all of Liberty, Bernard Wilkinson, of Gloster, Lorenzo Wilkinson, Terry Wilkinson, Henry Lee Wilkinson and Willie James Wilkinson, all of Liberty, Kenny Rogers, Earl Rogers, Willie Earl Rogers, Dennis Rogers and Charles Rogers, all of Magnolia; 10 sisters, Daisy Lee Ross, of Water’loo, Stella Woodard and Flora Ross, both of Chicago, Edna Ross and Mary McGhee, both of McComb, Betty Caulfied and husband, Charles, Rosa Conerly and Patricia Perkins, all of Liberty, Shirley Allen, of Gloster, and Barbara Gordon, of Magnolia; and a number of nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.
