NATCHEZ — Memorial services for Jasper “Jap” Jenkins, 72, of Natchez, who died Thursday, March 13, 2014, at his residence after a long battle with cancer, will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy McDaniel officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Jenkins was born Sept. 18, 1941, in Truman, Ark., the son J.V. and Ruby Miller Jenkins.
He worked as a crop duster, farmer and truck driver until his illness began.
Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Judy Gisevius; and one granddaughter, Raime Jenkins.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Gail Duncan Jenkins; and son, James “Jimbo” Jenkins and companion, Jessica Best; former wife, Charlotte Nugent; two sons, Randy Jenkins and companion, Julie Smith and Mickey Jenkins and wife, Tanya, all of Vidalia; one daughter, Lisa J. Chandler of Natchez; nine grandchildren, Logan Jenkins, Rylie Jenkins, Austin Jackson, Michael Jenkins, Brittany Jenkins, Tanner Jenkins, Tyson Jenkins, Jeff Chandler and Jordan C. Higgins; five great-grandchildren, Caleb, Alyssa, Finley, Addison and Grace Ann; and one nephew, Robert Gisevius.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Roxie Union Baptist Church Building Fund.
