NATCHEZ — Services for Tina Marie Fitt, 46, of Natchez will be at 2 p.m. today at Jefferson Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Kramer officiating.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service today at the church.

Ms. Fitt was born Sept. 28, 1967, in Riverside, Calif., the daughter of Elmer L. Bennett and Carolyn Jeannette Bennett.

Ms. Fitt was a graduate of Vidalia High School and graduated with honors from Northeast Louisiana University with a master’s degree in education. She was a member of Jefferson Street United Methodist Church.

Ms. Fitt was an educator with the Concordia Parish school system since 1990. She worked in various capacities in Vidalia and Ferriday. Her greatest joy was following her daughter, Hannah’s, school athletics, extracurricular activities and Hannah’s group of friends. Tina was an avid LSU fan, researcher and reader. She was a very outgoing person and never met a stranger. Tina was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone, especially area youth.

Ms. Fitt was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Marie Whittington and Clyde and Fannie Mae Bennett; her fiancé, James Magnum; aunt, Lynette Baker; niece ,Jami Bennett; and cousin, Lanell Briggs.

Survivors include her daughter, Hannah Fitt; father, Elmer Bennett; mother, Jeannette Bennett Krodel and husband, Mike, of Sun City Center, Fla.; two brothers, Bubba Bennett and companion, Roz White, of Needville, Texas, and Boggie Bennett and wife, Johanna, of Groves, Texas; two sisters, Carol Bennett Anders and companion, Don W. Ater, of Ferriday, and Joni Bennett Kenney of Carollton, Texas; former husband and Hannah’s father, William “Ripp” Fitt of Vidalia; nephews Matt Dillon, Bryan Bennett, Josh Bennett, Tyler Kenney, Nick Kenney and Jacob Bennett; and nieces, April Dillon, Candice Giles and Alex Bennett.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Jefferson Street United Methodist Church Youth Fund, PO Box 862, Natchez, MS., 39121.
