NATCHEZ — Services for James Earl Banks, 45, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, in Natchez, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Chapel Church No. 2 in Kingston.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Banks was born Nov. 7, 1968, in Natchez, the son of Dorothy Banks Jones and Johnnie Jones.
James was a 1987 graduate of Natchez High School and was employed by Mike’s Tire as a tireman. He enjoyed being a mechanic and loved grilling.
Mr. Banks was preceded in death by his parents; one niece, Celecia Banks; one nephew, Tarrence Thornburg; one brother, Willie “Pete” Jones; and one sister, Augustine Knight.
Survivors include his wife, Connie Caston Banks; one son, James Earl Banks and wife, Stephanie; one stepson, Eddie Flowers; one daughter, Veronica Banks Campbell and husband, Robert; four stepdaughters, Da’Nasia Caston, Destiny Lenoir, Diamond Caston and Mariana Hall, all of Natchez; three brothers, Eddie Jones and Jessie Jones, both of Natchez, and Samuel Jones and wife, Patricia, of Gulfport; two sisters, Brenda Thornburg and husband, Dwight, and Shanta Butler and husband, Bryan, all of Natchez; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Prater; brothers and sisters-in-law, Emzer Caston and wife, Lovenia, Jeanie Jones, all of Natchez, and Timothy Caston Moore and wife, Youlanda, of Dallas; three aunts, Thelma Jones, Edna Strauder and Augustine “Kit” Reynolds; three grandsons; two granddaughters; and a number of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
