LISMORE — Services for Peggy Rogers, 71, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014, in Jonesville, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Lismore Baptist Church with the Rev. Byron Gray and the Rev. James Gass officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Mrs. Rogers was born July 13, 1943, in New Era, La., the son of John Tillman and Lena Ruth Beaubouef Pecanty.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing and working crossword puzzles.

Mrs. Rogers was Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence Rozelle Rogers; and three siblings, Mitchell Pecanty, Huey Pecanty and Ohma Ruth Sullivan.

Survivors include five children, Joy Parker of St. Francisville, La., Darlene Smith and husband, Mike, and Tessa Martin and husband, Cory, all of Clayton, Clarence Rogers Jr. and Ron Rogers and fiancée, Fay Lavergne, all of Jonesville; three siblings, Shirley Cliburn and husband, Billy, of Ferriday, Dorothy Ashley and husband, CJ, of Crosby and Alton Pecanty and wife, Betty, of Vidalia; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ken Pecanty, Joe Pecanty, Darin Pecanty, Thomas Ashley, Tim Ashley and Gerald Perry.

Honorary pallbearers will be J.R. King, Billy Cliburn, Charles Bordelon, George Sullivan, Cory Martin and Mike Smith.
