NATCHEZ — Services for Robert Lee “Dub” Jackson, 81, of Las Vegas, who died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, in Las Vegas, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at West Gate Funeral Home in the George F. West Sr. Memorial Chapel with the Rev. LeRoy White officiating.
Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday, both at the funeral home.
Mr. Jackson was born Dec. 20, 1932, in Natchez, the son of Carrie Jackson and Edward Bernard.
After graduating high school in Natchez, Mr. Jackson joined the U.S. Army. He later moved to Buffalo.
Robert was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the men’s choir.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, George Edward “Joe Geter” Jackson, John Richard Bernard Sr. and James Edward Bernard; and one grandson, James “JT” West Jr.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Lucy Mae Andrews Jackson of Buffalo; five daughters, Maria Sedzro and husband, Edem, of Moreno Valley, Calif., Michelle Jackson-King and husband, Adrian, of Las Vegas, Elaine Thomas and husband, Arthur, Sharon West and husband, James T., all of Natchez, and Aundrea Herrington and husband, Clyde, of Allen, Texas; two brothers, Leroy Jackson and wife, Annie, and Percy Bernard and wife, Bertha, all of Natchez; one aunt, Ruby Jackson of Natchez; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
