ST. JOSEPH, La. — Services for Hazel Sheppard Samples, 79, of St. Joseph, who died Monday, Dec. 1, 2014, at the Plantation Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Winnsboro, La., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New China Grove Baptist Church in St. Joseph with the Rev. Isaac Ross officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Ms. Samples was born April 15, 1935, in St. Joseph, the daughter of Alex and Alice Parker Sheppard.

She was retired from United Airlines in Chicago.

Ms. Samples loved to travel.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include one son, Galyn Sheppard of Atlanta; one sister, Mayola S. Wiley; and one niece, Sandra Fisher, both of St. Joseph.
