NATCHEZ — Services for Charles Edward “Shug” Owens Sr., 67, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at his residence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at True Love Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating.

Burial will follow at the Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Owens was born Jan. 9, 1947, in Natchez, the son of William Long and Florence Owens.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; two granddaughters, Aniyah Owens and Harmony Owens; one grandson, Aaron Bradshaw; one nephew, Kentice Owens; four aunts; and one uncle.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Shell Owens; three children, Charles Owens Jr., Anthony Owens and Lynette Owens; four stepdaughters, Tonette Hinkston and husband, Henry, Rhonda Shell, Carla Williams and Jennifer Lyles and husband, Travon Sr.; one goddaughter, Clevana Lewis; two brothers, Michael Owens and wife, Carolynn, and Augusta Owens; one sister, Martha Ann Owens; two uncles, Lee Owens Jr. and Robert Owens; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
