FROGMORE, La. — Services for Bobby Carter Jackson, 51, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014, at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Baptist Church in Frogmore with the Rev. Milton Ceasor officiating.

Burial will follow at the Mount Mariah Cemetery in Frogmore under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jackson was born April 16, 1963, in Ferriday, the daughter of Elijah and Catherine Green Carter.

She was employed by Concordia Head Start in Clayton as a teacher.

Mrs. Jackson was a 1982 graduate of Ferriday High School and a 1986 graduate of Grambling State University.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her husband, Maurice Jackson; two children, Marissa Jackson of Ferriday and Jumanne Carter and wife, Qwana, of Natchez; two sisters, Gloria Walker of Ferriday and Dionne Atah of Atlanta; three brothers, Robert Carter and wife, Joyce, Marvin Carter and Donald Carter; godmother, Mary Carter; three grandchildren, Jumanne Carter Jr., Jumyren Carter and Jumyri Carter, all of Ferriday; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Betty Gauither and Percy Jackson of Baton Rouge; special friend, Wanda Jo Banks and her family of Vidalia; one godchild, Celexis Martin; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
