“They’re going fast,” said NLCC Ticket Chairwoman Gina Bandy.

Ticketed events include:

4A concert, “For My People,” in honor of Jackson writer Margaret Walker on the centennial of her birth. The concert will be hosted at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church. Tickets are $10.

4“Luncheon a la Craig Claiborne,” inspired by the food writer’s favorite dishes and prepared by Natchez natives Chef Regina Charboneau and Chef Richard “Bingo” Starr. The event will be at noon Saturday at the Carriage House restaurant at Stanton Hall. Tickets are $25.

4A gala benefit reception and dinner at 5:45 p.m. Saturday at King’s Tavern. Tickets are $145, with $100 of that amount tax-deductible.

The deadline to buy tickets for the meals is Thursday. To buy tickets, call (601) 446-1289 and pay with a credit card.

The 26th annual celebration also includes a multitude of free events, including a public reception honoring NLCC co-founder Carolyn Vance Smith.

The reception, which will take place from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Historic Natchez Foundation, is being hosted by Friends of the NLCC and Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

The theme of this year’s events is “Bigger Than Life: Extraordinary Mississippians.” It will include speakers, book signings, and exhibits.

Sponsors of the Celebration are Co-
Lin and the Mississippi Department of Archives and History.

Others supporting the event include the Mississippi Humanities Council, the Natchez National Historical Park, the City of Natchez and the Adams County Board of Supervisors.
