CLEVELAND, Ohio — Memorial services for Clabron Matthew Johnson Sr., will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Cummings and Davis Funeral Home in Cleveland, Ohio.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Evergreen Memorial Park in Bedford, Ohio, under the direction of Cummings and Davis Funeral Home.
Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 28, 1928, in Natchez, the son of William Cleve Johnson Sr. and Anna Eliza (née Sewell) Johnson-Adams.
Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the Korean War. After his discharge from the U.S. Army, he moved to Cleveland. In Cleveland, on Dec. 25, 1953, he joined in marriage to Thelma Lee (née Washington) Johnson, also of Natchez. They were married for 40 years and this union was blessed with five children.
Mr. Johnson worked at Grabler Manufacturing before opening his own business, Rig and Tool Welding.
He became well-known and a well respected master welder and machinist in the Cleveland area.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his loving wife; one son, Caeser Edwards Johnson; one daughter, Cynthia Elaine Johnson; his parents and stepfather, Caeser Edwards Adams; and two brothers, Fredie Johnson and James Herman Johnson.
Survivors include one son, Clabron Johnson Jr.; two daughters, Sylvia Johnson and Tracie Johnson; five siblings, William Cleve Johnson Jr., Stephanie (née Johnson) Cage, Renza (née Johnson) Grennell, Joyce (née Johnson) Johnson and Verna (née Johnson) Wallace, all of Natchez; two aunts; a special cousin, Bennie Sewell of Rock Island, Ill.; eternally devoted friends, Dorothy Brown of St. Louis and Dorothy McCool of Cleveland; and a number of other family members and friends.
