MONTEREY — Services for Ruth Virginia Crane, 85, of Monterey, who died Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Monterey Church of Christ with the Rev. Clyde Grammon and the Rev. Jason Sparks officiating.
Burial will follow at the Crane Cemetery in Monterey under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Mrs. Crane was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Ferriday, the daughter of Charles Clarence Drummond and Audie Watson Drummond.
She was a member of the Monterey Church of Christ.
Mrs. Crane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack T. “Buddy” Crane; two brothers, Dan Drummond and Van Drummond; and two sisters, Billy Drummond Gilbert and Audie Marie Drummond Wilson.
Survivors include one son, Jack Crane Jr. and wife, Wanda, of Monterey; two daughters, Beth Baldwin and husband, Tom, and Amy Crane and Ricky Reynolds, all of Monterey; three sisters, Ruby Lee Green, Nora Ann Montgomery and Dorothy Drummond; five grandchildren, Keith Crane, Jackie Havard, Burrel Book, Jennie Kelly and Gwinn Pecanty; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Keith Crane, Caleb Havard, Burrel Book, Tracy Kelly, Blair Wilson and Cody Parker.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kelley Pecanty, Uel Beard and Lovice Beard.
The family extends appreciation to Dr. Kevin Ingram, Riverland Medical Center, Camilla Hospice and Heritage Manor Nursing Home for their kindness and support during their mom and grandmother’s illness.
