VIDALIA — Services for Eunice Elizabeth Landers Montgomery, 89, who died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Vidalia.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Montgomery was born Nov. 10, 1926, the daughter of Johnny Dodds Landers and Mattie Elizabeth Landers.
She was a lifelong resident of Natchez.
Eunice enjoyed a long professional life that began with work for attorney Wilford Geisenberger and was later employed by Johns Manville. As a lifelong learner, she became a court reporter before finishing her public life as a public accountant.
Most of all, she was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Vidalia.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Leroy Montgomery.
Survivors include two children, Johnny David Montgomery and Alice Elizabeth Montgomery-Thorpe, both of Natchez; two grandchildren, Tara Elizabeth Rigby of Biloxi and Johnny Patrick Thorpe of Vidalia; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Montgomery, Jimmy Ray Hardy III and Mason Elizabeth Thorpe; two sisters, Evelyn McDonald of Fayetteville, Ark., and Virginia Landers of Philadelphia; and two nieces, Jill Rigby Garner of Baton Rouge and Frances Mayo of Fayetteville.
