FERRIDAY — Services for Raymond “Skipper” Galloway, 92, of Ferriday, who died Saturday, April 9, at his home, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday Clyde Ray Webber officiating.
Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Raymond Galloway was born Oct. 13, 1923 in Oakdale, La., the son of George W. Galloway and Mary Mae.
Mr. Galloway was known by most people in Concordia Parish and the surrounding area from his many careers. He retired from Chevron after 35 years as a Gauger, He proudly served as an Alderman for 20 years in the town of Ferriday, and his last career was as Bailiff of Concordia Parish for 33 years. He retired at age 91.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Jean Cockerham and Mildred Adams.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Katherine Galloway; one son, Pat Galloway and wife Cindy of Vidalia; one grandson, Jeffrey Galloway and fiancée Desireé of Parker, Colo.; one granddaughter, Shannon Edmiston and husband Cole of Choudrant, La. and one greatgranddaughter, Anna Katherine Edmiston of Choudrant.
Pallbearers will be Cole Edmiston, Jeffrey Galloway, Kenneth Hedricks, Randy Maxwell, Leo Boothe and William Pollard Coleman.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack McLemore Jr., Billy Cliburn, Rodger Graeber, Mike Graeber and Gene Brakenridge.
