VIDALIA — Services for Joseph Monroe Richardson, 71, of Vidalia, who died Sunday, May 8, 2016, at Leslie Lake Retirement Home in Arcadia, La., will be noon Thursday at Sycamore Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Joshua Shelton and the Rev. Edwin Beach officiating. 

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

Mr. Richardson was born Jan. 26, 1945, in Ferriday, the son of Pate Monroe Richardson and Lillian Patrick.

He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.

Mr. Richardson was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Dorothy Cockerham, Ruby Jean Jones and Mary Francis Netherland; four brothers, Jerry Richardson, Harold Richardson, Mike Richardson and Herman Richardson; and one great-grandson, Brenton Hank Mitchell.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Rhonda Wright Richardson; three daughters, Theresa Short, Jo Marks and Pamela Richardson; two stepchildren, Brandon Atkins and Jennifer Atkins; four grandchildren, Joshua Shelton, Cody Marks, Reba Short and Morgan Marks; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
