FERRIDAY — Private memorial services for Tommy Ray Smith, 72, who died Monday, May 23, 2016, at his residence in Ferriday, will be at a later date.
Mr. Smith was born Aug. 20, 1943, in Ferriday, the son of Adrian Ray and Irene Smith.
He was in the logging business for more than 30 years.
Tommy will always be remembered as a family man because he loved his girls, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all of his heart. Anything they wanted or needed he tried to provide for them. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Patsy Stevens Smith; three daughters, Patti Pope and husband, Jason, of Sterlington, La., Tanya Norris and husband, Earl, of Roxie and Stacie Culberson and husband, Darin, of Navarre, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Leslie Ray Fish and wife, Katie, Taylor Fish, Hunter Norris, Denver Waren, Jordan Culberson, Tyler Culberson and Jase Pope; two great-grandchildren. Denim Fish and Colton Goodwin; two sisters, Glenda White of Winnfield, La., and Pam Kiser and husband, Rusty, of Vidalia; true special friends for a number of years, Pete and Hilda Whittington; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
