MEADVILLE — Services for A.J. “Byrd” Shaw Sr., 92, of Meadville, who died Friday, June 3, 2016, at Franklin County Memorial Hospital, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Fork United Methodist Church in Meadville with the Rev. Luther Bonds officiating.  

Burial will follow at Old Sixteen Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home in Bude and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Shaw was born Nov. 20, 1923, in Eddiceton, the son of John and Lizzie Shaw.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Hattie Mae Shaw and Edna Rollins; one brother, Johnny Lee Shaw; and one stepdaughter, Rosie Shaw-Fox.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Elmerie Shaw; three daughters, Janice Shaw-Anderson, Linda Shaw-Hamilton and Edwina LaVonne Gibson; three sons, Leon Shaw, Robert Shaw and A.J. Shaw Jr.; one stepson, Leroy King; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lessie Mae Washington; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
