Mr. King was born Saturday, May 8, 1943, the son of Lee Roy and Alice Parker King

Bobby loved being with his family hunting, fishing, watching sporting events, especially if it included LSU Tigers, visiting with classmates of BHS Class of 1961 and reading and studying his Bible. He was retired from the Catahoula Parish Sheriff Department and was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesville, but of all these things the most important to him was that he was a born again Christian.

He had a change of address from pain and suffering in his earthly body surrounded by his family at his home to a body made whole and free of pain, walking on streets of gold with Jesus Christ in Heaven on Saturday, July 2, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Smithson “HubNut” King, and a nephew, Greg King.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Ruth Rodgers King; a son, Bobby King Jr. of Bossier City; a “daughter,” Marissa K. Carbine and husband Tim; 3 grandsons, Jared King, Connor and Seth Carbine, all of Shreveport; two brothers, J.R. King and wife Kathleen and Lee “Cooter” King and wife Gayle; and a sister, Jeanette Delhoste.

Pallbearers will be his beloved nieces and nephews, Kirby, Kernie, Ken, Ben, Ronnie and Bodie King, Eddie and John Delhoste, Cindy McElroy, Kelly Ryan, Kay Johnese and Janice Ford.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Barnhill, Dr. W.C. Coney, J.S. Fairbanks and Ray King.
