LORMAN — Services for Alice Walton Banks, 73, of Fayette, who died Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Merit Health Central Jackson, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Lorman with the Rev. Richard Cruel officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Natchez chapel and from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Banks was born June 21, 1943, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Andrew James and Hattie Gaines Walton.
She was a member of Jessamine Ridge Baptist Church and served as president of the mother board. She was also a member of the Poplar Hill Community Leaders and was a vocational Bible study leader.
Mrs. Banks was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marshall Banks; and three brothers, Eddie, Andrew and Sylvester Walton.
Survivors include one son, Marshall Banks III and wife, Tonie, of Houston; two daughters, Shirley Barnes and husband, Andra, of Vicksburg and Cheryl Minott and husband, Anthony, of Douglasville, Ga.; five grandchildren, Demetria Reed, Colen Reed, Darrell Brown and Quentin and Jasmine Banks; two great-grandchildren, Omari Hampton and Jaylen Burrell; seven sisters, Evelyn Fells, Mary Williams, Annell Perry, Katie Horne and husband, Tom, Johnnie Ruth Jackson, Thelma Jones and Elnora Huff and husband, Eugene; two brothers, Vernell Watson and wife, Emma, and Felvis Walton; one special niece, Verdeen Washington; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
