FERRIDAY — Services for John “Freddie” Turner, 54, of Ferriday, who died Friday, July 29, 2016, in New Orleans, will be 11 a.m. today at Old St. Reed Baptist Church with the Rev. Kelvin Davis officiating.
Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Mr. Turner was born Sept. 1, 1961, in Ferriday, the son of Eddie Turner Sr. and Mary Dixon Turner.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Cynthia Turner.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Khon; one son, John Brown; one stepson, Keith Brown, both of Lake Charles, La.; four brothers, Eddie Turner Jr. and wife, Novella, William Turner, Charles Turner and wife, Cynthia, and David Turner; five sisters, Doris Hooper and husband, Ernest, Blanche Zeek and husband, Elvie, Deloris Turner, Lisa Turner and Kimberly L. Turner, all of Ferriday; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; five aunts, Erma Turner, Earline Herron, both of Monticello, Ark., Daisy Bellanger and husband, Cornelius, Dorothy Loyd and husband, Bennie Ray, Lee Pearl Turner and husband, the Rev. R.B. Turner, all of Ferriday; four uncles, Willie Dixon and wife, Erma, and Irvin Dixon, all of California, Douglas Dixon and Jimmie Dixon and wife, Ann, of Alabama.
