FERRIDAY — Services for Ruby Ernestine Humphries, 75, of Clayton, who died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at her residence, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Young’s Funeral Home Chapel in Ferriday with the Rev. Dennie Braswell officiating.
Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Cemetery in Newellton, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Humphries was born April 26, 1941, in Newellton, the daughter of Ernest Wilson and Ruby Stone .
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Billy Wayne Humphries; one sister, Dorothy Whittington; and three brothers, Lowell Wilson, Ed Wilson and Charles Wilson.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Humphries; three daughters, Patty Gossett and husband, Gary, of Texas, Annette Comeaux and Judy Crews, both of Clayton; three sons, Edward Humphries and wife, Darlene, of Ridgecrest, Ernest Humphries of Clayton and Jerry Humphries and wife, Diana, of Georgia; special family friend, Billy Jo Seals of Ridgecrest; one brother, Robert Wilson of New Mexico; one sister, Helen King of Vicksburg; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Pallbearers will be David Comeaux, Kermit Humphries, Larry Cowan, Ernest Humphries, Nicholas Phillips and Delmar Humphries.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Smith, David Myers, Tyler Oconner, Dylan Oconner and Earl Longmire.
