WATERPROOF — Services for Alice Harness, 98, of Waterproof, who died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Myrtle Grove Baptist Church in Waterproof with the Rev. Adrian Lundy officiating.
Burial will follow at Good Samaritan Cemetery in Waterproof under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harness was born Aug. 23, 1918, in Waterproof, the daughter of Victor and Amanda Jones Wiley.
She was a member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and served on the mother’s board. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Crescent Chapter No. 142.
Mrs. Harness was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Prince Harness; and one daughter, Alice McCranie.
Survivors include one son, Elijah Bailey; one daughter, Mary Lee Favorite, both of Waterproof; one sister, Dorothy Spain of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 19 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.
