NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Tom Allen “Jack” Byrd, 81, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at his residence, will be Monday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jeffrey Brewer officiating.

Burial will follow in the cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home.

Before the graveside service, visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon at Parkway Baptist Church.

Mr. Byrd was born Feb. 18, 1935,in Natchez, the son of Ben Byrd and Mary Etta Arnold Byrd.

Mr. Byrd was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was retired from Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company after many years of service. He loved to spend time hunting, laughing and joking with his friends. He loved his family very much and will be dearly missed.

Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patty Wallace Byrd; daughter, Carman Darlene Byrd; brothers, Dexter Byrd and Bennie Byrd; and sisters, Syble Smith, Joann Hollingsworth and Geneva Floyd.

Survivors include his daughter, Allison Atkinson and husband, Glenn, of Natchez; granddaughter, Alyx Eliser and husband, Troy, of Natchez; grandson, Jacob Atkinson of Wharton, Texas; brother, Don Byrd of Sanger, Texas; and sister, Guynell Hall of Natchez.

Pallbearers will be Al Hall, Allan Byrd, Ben Byrd, John Jr. Hollingsworth and Tim Hollingsworth, Tom Allen Hollingsworth and Ryan Jamison.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmie Brewer, Billy Ray Havard, Roger Arnold, Louie Brown and members of Wildwood Hunting Club.

A very special thank you goes out to Jimmie Brewer for being a faithful friend for many years.
