VIDALIA — Services for Ernie Banks Sr., 60, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, July 9, 2017, at his residence, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church in Vidalia with the Rev. Carl Smith officiating.

Burial will follow at the Vidalia City Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Banks was born July 13, 1956, in Vidalia, the son of Jeffery Banks Jr. and Patsy Cubie Banks.

He was retired from Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Department. He was Baptist.

Mr. Banks was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Leo, Jessie Sr. and Jeffery Banks; and three sisters, Idellia Banks, Irma Banks and Elenora Banks.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Banks; two sons, Ernie Banks Jr. and wife, Brittany Payne, of Vidalia and D’Juan Banks and wife, Tenia, of Stafford, Va.; four daughters, Angela Brown and husband, Jeremy, and Ebony Banks, all of Vidalia, Ernertria Banks and husband, Derrick Sr., of Ferriday, and Glenda Anderson and husband, KaShantis, of Hendon, Va.; three brothers, Danny Banks and wife, Denise, of Dallas, Franklin Banks and wife, Betty, and Renard Banks and wife, Sylvia, all of Natchez; five sisters, Bettye Sigust and husband, Arthur, Sharon Banks and husband, Rolando, Morjorie Williams and husband, Charles Sr., Barbara Lyles and husband, James Ross, all of Vidalia, and Helen Lyles and husband, Jonathan, of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
