GLOSTER – Services for Harris Wayne Chambers, 72, of Centreville, who died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at Field Health Systems in Centreville, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Gloster.
Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Centreville under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Chambers was born Dec. 19, 1944, in Tallahatchie County, the son of William Harris Chambers and Janie Carpenter Chambers.
He served in the U.S. Army from August 1965 to August 1967, which included in Vietnam and also served in the reserves until 1971. In his lifetime, he worked as a carpenter, a pipe fitter for a number of years and as a cross-country truck driver.
Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by his parents and one stepdaughter, Connie Wade.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Pritchard Chambers; one son, Ernest Wayne Chambers; one stepson, Charles Hutchings; and one sister, Joyce Doubleday and husband, Leslie.
