NATCHEZ — Graveside services for Mary B. Carter Melson, 89, who died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Burial will follow under the direction of Parkway Funeral Home.
Mary B., as she was known by her family, was born and raised in Luling, Texas, the daughter of Robert and Nora Carter.
She was a 1945 graduate of Luling High School and a 1948 graduate of Howard Payne College with a degree in business education. She lived in Natchez for nearly 40 years where she was a faithful member of First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Melson was preceded in death by her parents; two older brothers, Elwood and A.J. Carter; and her husband, of 38 years, Claude E. Melson Jr.
Survivors include two children, Lisa Lambert Halford of Madison, and David Lambert of Sumter, S.C.; five grandchildren, Allyson Lambert Winter, Christopher Jones, Courtland Lambert, Joseph Lambert and Elizabeth Jones Anderson; and six great-grandchildren.
Our mama and Bebee, as she was known to her grandchildren, was a faithful and loving mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed until we see her again in heaven.
