FROGMORE, La. — Services for Bessie Lee Collins Bruins, 84, of Ferriday, who died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at her residence, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Baptist Church in Frogmore, La., with the Rev. T.A. Baker Jr. officiating.

Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery next to her husband, Fleming Bruins, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bruins was born Sept. 2, 1933, in Frogmore, the daughter of Mannie and Viola Carter Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Ray Bruins; three sisters, Ramona Collins, Lee Gather Johnson and Roileaus Higgins; and one grandchild, Demetruis Bethley.

Survivors include one daughter, Eva Collins Bethley and husband, Freddie, of Los Angeles; one stepdaughter, Jo Ann Davis of California; one sister, Tante Collins of Ferriday; and one grandchild, Alexis.
