NEWELLTON — Graveside services for June Rae May, 89, of Newellton, La., who died Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at Tioga Community Care Center, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Legion Memorial Cemetery with Barclay Tullos officiating, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

June May was born on Sunday, June 3, 1928, in Walnut Springs, Texas, the daughter of Raymond Stanley Wood and Stella Barclay Wood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin Lee May; two brothers, Charles and John Wood; and four sisters, Lorene Ray, Glennis Bruce, Reta Slate and Joyce Armstrong.

She is survived by one son, Stanley May and wife, Nenie, of Newellton; three daughters, Allison Tullos and husband, Charles of Newellton, Serena Doyle and husband, Steve, all of Newellton, and Tammy Hromadka and husband, Mark, of Pineville, La.; one brother, Benny Wood and wife, Astrid, of Baton Rouge, La.; one sister, Hollis Arnold of Monroe, La.; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a host nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Barclay Tullos, John May, Jared Hromadka, Matt Doyle, Stan Wood and Kevin Arnold.

A special thanks to her caregivers- Dorothy, Lomard, Bessie and Gertrude, the staff of Tioga Community Care Center and All Saints Hospice.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
