NATCHEZ — A funeral mass for Henry Edward LeBlanc Sr., 77, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Merit Health Natchez, will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today St. Mary Basilica with the Rev. David O’Connor officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. LeBlanc was born on April 11, 1941, in Woodville, the son of Clarence Alex LeBlanc and Eva Jones LeBlanc. He was a graduate of Cathedral Catholic School.
Mr. LeBlanc’s career was in the oil and gas industry. Following his retirement, his second career was convenience store marketing for Sprint Mart. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Basilica. He enjoyed participating in liturgical roles and the Parish Council. He was a past grand knight of The Knights of Columbus Bishop R.O. Gerow Council 1034. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge No. 553. He enjoyed cooking for friends and family. He was a stalwart member of the Natchez Santa Claus Committee. He had the pleasure of driving Santa for 27 years. The Santa Claus committee supports the Children’s Christmas Tree fund that has been in place for 115 years. He volunteered for the National Park Service and the William Johnson House. His fellow rangers considered him the volunteer extraordinaire. He enjoyed spending time with his three granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Sylvia LeBlanc Lowery of Natchez and Nancy LeBlanc Lewis of Utah.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Christine McCaa LeBlanc; two children, Monica LeBlanc Mayo and husband, Monty, of Natchez, and Henry Edward “Butch” LeBlanc Jr. and wife, Tina Holland LeBlanc, of Hattiesburg; three grandchildren, Katherine McCaa Mayo and Elizabeth Mary Mayo of Natchez, and Chloé Marie LeBlanc of Hattiesburg; one sister, Anne LeBlanc Giadrosich of Natchez; two brothers, William Richard LeBlanc and wife, Brenda, of Alabama, and Ralph Jeffery Sayers of Texas; one niece, Denise Lowery Stinson and husband, Paul, of Texas; three great-nephews, David Stinson, William Stinson and Phillip Stinson, all of Texas; and a number of other friends and relatives.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Hodges, Danny Yates, Richard Adams, Paul Stinson, William Stinson and Tommy Biglane.
Honorary pallbearers will be George McFarland, Sammy Guercio, Danny Goldman, Johnny Hicks and members of the Merit Health Heart Health Exercise Group.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Edward Daly, Dr. Jack Rodriguez, Dr. Brad Lemay and Beverly Lawley for their care and support.
Memorial donations may be made to Cathedral School or the Children’s Christmas Tree Fund.
