BUNKLEY — Services for TJ Covington of Natchez, formerly of Franklin County, who died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018, at his residence, will be noon Saturday at Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Bunkley with the Rev. Anthony Wilcher officiating.
Burial will follow at Higdon Church Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home’s Natchez chapel and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mr. Covington was born Oct. 2, 1956, in Bunkley, the son of Elijah and Alice Shell Covington.
He was employed as a construction worker, cement finisher and roofer.
Covington was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Alice C. Tyler, Daisy C. Hunt, Ida C. Boisseau and Eva N. Carradine; and five brothers, Charles E. Covington, Thomas Harris, John E. Covington, Lonnie J. Covington and Burl Covington.
Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Debra Stampley Covington; three daughters, Contessia Hart, Jasmine Deer and Teraketha Stampley; two sons, Thomas Rancifer and Cartrell Stampley; three sisters, Mary Cameron and husband, Dan, Velma Woodard and husband, Herbert, and Sharon Elmore and husband, Ronnie; four brothers, A.B. Covington, Elijah Covington, Wilbert Covington and Alfred Covington and wife, Tillie; one aunt, Bessie Covington; one sister-in-law, Annette Luckette and husband, Bob; two brothers-in-law, Lamar Stampley and Melvin Tyler; 20 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
