NATCHEZ — Services for Edna Logan Washington, 81, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at Merit Health Natchez, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Christian Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Douglas Logan officiating.
Burial will be Monday at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 5:30 p.m. today with a celebration of life wake service at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Washington was born Aug. 20, 1937, in Natchez, the daughter of Venne Logan and Marie Hutchins Logan.
She was educated in the Adams County public schools. Washington was retired from the Natchez Pecan Factory and was a retired household technician. She was a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church and enjoyed watching television, especially her favorite show, “Sanford and Son.”
Washington was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Washington Jr.; her parents; and one son, Kenny Logan.
Survivors include one son, Donald Lee Washington and wife, Ola; three daughters, Avis Washington, Lorraine Washington Smith and Barbara Washington Dixon and husband, S.L.; two brothers, Mourise Logan and wife, Roberta, of Detroit, and Freddy Logan of Dallas; three sisters, Marie Granger and Bertha Walters of Natchez and Dorothy Logan of Dallas; 13 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and a number of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
