NATCHEZ — Private services for William Jerome Lucky, 70, of Roxie, who died Friday Sept. 28, 2018, at Merit Health Natchez, will be held at the Natchez National Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Lucky was born July 25, 1948, in Augusta, Ga., the son of Wilbur and Thelma Luckey.

He was a decorated veteran, having served in Vietnam and Korea. He received multiple purple hearts for his service during those times. He was stationed in Colorado when he met Shirley Suggett in 1970, and his only child, Sheri, came to be.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David Luckey; and twin sister who died as an infant.

Survivors include his one daughter, Sheri Lucky Israel of Longview, Texas; two grandsons, Markus George and Matthew George, both of Hallsville, Texas; three great- granddaughters, Emma, Maya and McKenna George, all of Hallsville; two sisters, Joanne Luckey and one name unknown; and the rest of the family, all of Augusta, Ga.
