NATCHEZ – Funeral services for Calvin “Buddy” Eugene Dodd, 73, of Natchez will be held at Cornerstone Church in Natchez on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 10 a.m. with Darrick Dupont, Pastor Danny Reed, Pastor Todd Welch, and Pastor John “JT” Thurman officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Buddy was born on Saturday, May 2, 1951, in Ferriday and passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 in Vidalia. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Calvin spent his life working in the oilfield and working as a prison guard at Concordia Corrections and Angola. Calvin was a member of Cornerstone Church and loved his Lord. He spent his time outdoors. Calvin was an avid gardener and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing softball. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is reunited with his parents, Calvin Elzie Dodd, Jr. and Mary Lack Johnson Dodd.

Those left behind to cherish Buddy’s memories are his wife, Susan Maxson Dodd; daughter, Michele Dupont and her husband, Corey of New Iberia, LA; son, Darrell Dodd and his wife, Elizabeth of Brandon, FL; honorable son, Jamie Dupont of New Iberia, LA; grandson, Darrick Dupont and his wife, Chelsey of Natchez; granddaughter, Mary Beth Deshotels and her husband, Aaron of Ft. Cavazos, TX; granddaughter, Kaitlin Wigginton and her husband, Ross of Clayton, LA; grandson, Brandon Dodd; grandson, Michael Jones and his wife, Mallory of Vidalia; granddaughter, Allison Dodd; sister, Glenda Sue Wright of Ferriday; brother, Gary Lynn Dodd, and his wife, Becky of GA; great-grandchildren, Joseph Little, Samuel Deshotels, Makenzie Deshotels, Colton Wigginton, and Ruth Dupont; special puppy child, Little Bit Dodd; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Those honoring Buddy as pallbearers are Darrick Dupont, Michael Jones, Ross Wigginton, Darrell Dodd, Corey Dupont, and Jamie Dupont.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Dodd and Aaron Deshotels.

The family will receive friends at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday, LA on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 5 until 8 p.m.
