Mrs. David Thomas Hulse (Caroline Lowe Hughes)

Caroline Lowe Hughes of Tyler, Texas and David Thomas Hulse of Fort Worth, Texas were married Saturday, July 23, 2011, at 6:30 in the evening at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler with Curtis Cannon officiating. Music for the ceremony was provided by Kevin Burdette of Tyler and Daniel Thompson of Denver, Colo.

The bride, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Nathan Hughes of Tyler and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby G. Lowe of Tyler, formerly of Vidalia, is a graduate of Texas A&M University. The groom, son of Dr. and Mrs. Alfred Hulse of Fort Worth is also a graduate of Texas A&M.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a silk shantung gown by Mikaella Bridal. The strapless gown had a notched pleated neckline featuring an empire band adorned with a small broach. The skirt was A-line with double inverted pleats and side pockets. The gown was complimented by a sweeping train. Her double tiered, elbow length veil was of white tulle with a rolled edge by Bellaire Bridal.

Maid of honor was Joanna Hughes, sister of the bride, of Tyler. Bridesmaids were Whitney Sims of Nashville, Tenn., Carly Beckham of Houston, Texas, Jillian Green of College Station, Texas and Augusta Clark of Birmingham, Ala. They wore seaglass strapless, knee-length satin back dupioni dresses featuring a scalloped neckline which were fitted at the waist accented by a side bow.

Serving in the house party were Jenna Howard and Vanessa Ferreira of Houston, Layne Brookshire of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Rachael Hulse of College Station.

Best men were Jonathan Hulse and Andrew Hulse, brothers of the groom. Groomsmen were Joshua Storie and Joshua Milstein of Fort Worth and Reagan Thompson of Albuquerque, N.M. Ushers were Daniel Thompson of Denver, Eric Park of Austin, Texas and Chase Clark of Birmingham.

Following the ceremony, dinner and dancing at Lake Tyler Petroleum Club were hosted by the bride’s parents. The evening before the ceremony, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The Lake Club at the Cascades Golf and Country Club.

Following a wedding trip to Beaver Creek, Colo., the couple will reside in Fort Worth.
