Horace “Horse Cartwright” Evans Jr.

NATCHEZ — Services for Horace “Horse Cartwright” Evans Jr., 60, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at Glenburney Healthcare, will be 11 a.m. Sunday at Morning Star Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home, Bude.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

Mr. Evans was born May 25, 1946, in Adams County, the son of Horace Evans Sr. and Ethel Elizabeth Evans.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Myrtle Evans.

Survivors include a daughter, Tiffany Evans of Jackson; a son, Tamarcus Evans of Perrytown; sisters, Mabel M. Evans and Mary E. Rounds, both of Natchez; brother, the Rev. Ruben Evans and wife, Stella, of Natchez; granddaughters, Tchernavia Griffin of Durham, N.C. and Jade Bell of Jackson; four nieces; five nephews; five great-nieces; 12 great-nephews; and a number of other relatives and friends.
