FERRIDAY — Services for Hazel Harvey “Minx” Current, 94, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, March 3, 2011, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Clyde Ray Webber officiating.

Burial will follow at Woodlawn Mausoleum under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the church.

Mrs. Current was born Jan. 21, 1917, in New Orleans.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker and an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Ferriday where she served as an elder. Mrs. Current especially loved the children and the choir, was an avid gardener and a member of the Ferriday Garden Club. She loved to cook and served many meals to her family and members of the community. She also enjoyed water aerobics and Rummy Royal.

Mrs. Current was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Claude Howard Current; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theo H. Harvey; and one sister, Amy Crozat.

Survivors include three daughters, Marlyn Crump and husband, Ed, Peggy Turnbough and husband, Bill, and Cindy Cole and husband, Roy; one brother, Theo Harvey; seven granddaughters, Andee Blauser and husband, Jeff, Rachel Turnbough, Mindy McCelvey and husband, David, Currie Custer and husband, Kelly, Tullie Solieau and husband, David, Rebecca Ostrow and husband, Mike, and Carolyn Mandajam and husband, Suraj and 14 great-grandchildren Bert Gerhardt, Meg Gerhardt, Rachel Ann Gerhardt, Katie Maude Gerhardt, Winn Custer, Mac Custer, Susie Solieau, Will McCelvey, Matt McCelvey, George McCelvey, Abbie Blauser, Cooper Blauser, Rachel Ostrow and Rohan Mandajam.

Pallbearers will be Tom Milliken, Mike Rabb, Andy Anders, Perry Corbet, Randy Miller, Bill Colvin, John Taylor and John Rife.
