Natchez needs to stop playing games

As you can tell by my address, I do not live in the City of Natchez.

I go to church in Natchez, spend money in Natchez and do 90 percent of my business in Natchez, so what happens does affect me in some degree.

Figuratively speaking, I do not have a dog in this fight, just an outside observation.

There has been a lot of talk about racism among the board members of the City of Natchez. White men nominate a white person for chief of police, and this is called racism.

Three black people get up and walk out of a meeting, this is not racism?

When I was a child, and we were playing a game — and it appears the board of aldermen are playing a game — if the person who owned the ball did not get their way, instead of trying to reach a solution, they would take the ball and go home.

Apparently, the three aldermen who walked out own the ball.

In my opinion, the City of Natchez needs to elect officials who will not take the ball and go home, but work together to find a solution.

Drop the race card, settle down and plan for the future of Natchez.
