JACKSON (AP) — The state Court of Appeals on Tuesday upheld the conviction of a Natchez man for his role in the holdup of a Roxie bank in 2009.

Donald J. Wilson of Natchez was convicted in Franklin County in 2010 and sentenced to 40 years in prison on armed robbery charges in a holdup of the Roxie branch of the Bank of Franklin.

Prosecutors say Wilson was one of two men who went into the bank on Dec. 2, 2009, jumped the counter and left with an undisclosed amount of money, while a third man drove the getaway car.

The Appeals Court rejected Wilson’s claim that his attorney could have done a better job and prosecutors failed to prove his guilt.
