This heartfelt letter is from Vicki Byrnes and Janet Byrnes, wanting to take this time to thank everyone for their prayers, thoughts and support during our battle with cancer.

The words of encouragement and special prayers help fight this disease each and every day.

We are so thankful for the wonderful community in which we live. Your prayers and support give us the strength to fight this battle.

We also want to thank the organizers of the Cox Hill Fall Festival and Haunted Trail who generously raised money for both of us through their event this year.

Thanks to all those who took part. Your kindness will never be forgotten.   The Haunted Trail Ride was amazing. The time taken to put the acts and scenes together was tremendous. Sitting around the fire talking and laughing with family and friends was priceless. It completely took our minds off everything painful and brought joy to us and to our families. For those who do not know, Janet was diagnosed with stage three Adenocarcinoma of the lung in April, while Vicki was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in August. We would like to thank each and every one of you for your generous support.

The unbelievable support at the festival proves that God is still in control and we have some dynamic prayer warriors in the Miss-Lou.

The journey has been made so much more tolerable with the love of our families, our church families, friends, and most importantly, the love of God.

To all those who are battling cancer, remember God can bring peace to your soul.

Cancer cannot cripple love; it cannot shatter hope; it cannot corrode faith; it cannot eat away peace; it cannot destroy confidence; it cannot kill friendship; it cannot shut out memories; it cannot silence courage; it cannot reduce eternal life; it cannot quench the spirit.

Thanks again and may God bless all of you.
