February is Black History Month and the Maj. Gen. William T. Martin Camp 590, Mississippi Division Sons of Confederate Veterans wishes to honor and salute the men of color listed below for their service to the Confederate army.

The men below, who were all from Adams County, were either of African descent or American. They could have been slaves or free persons of color and their story is often overlooked.

They all received a pension from the State of Mississippi for their service during the War for Southern Independence, and we would like to thank them and recognize them for that.
